About Julie Wendt
Building Bright Futures

I love teaching and seeing the joy and excitement of learning on a child's face. First grade is my favorite grade and reading, traveling and taking family walks are some of my other favorites. I am blessed with a special family, Deron, my husband, and Jordan and Jesse, our sons. Jordan is a lawyer and lives in Ruston. Jesse recently graduated and got a job as a Cardiac Device Technician in Waco. Deron retired from the Air Force, but has a job as a civilian at Barksdale AFB with Global Strike Command. We feel blessed to be able to stay here and call Bossier City our home. My mom moved here from South Dakota and made Bossier her home too. She helps me with all my Can-Do Projects. We have a dog named Dixie Belle who is very cute and friendly. She also loves to walk and cuddles me when I am checking papers. Getting to see the Can-Do-Kids each day is a JOY!

Take a look below to view some of the FUN!
Read, Read, Read
We are building our reading stamina! Our goal is to read 30 minutes every day during reading workshop and every night at home. As we read, read, read, we are developing our reading skills and our love of books.
Student Fun
Fun Days start the first week of school and continue to the last. Get prepared for learning with friends, fun and food! Each day will be a new adventure as we learn and get to know each other more. Koala Roo Can-Do will join in too! We will work together to earn our first good behavior celebration, a camp out at school!
